So...I tried using my civil rights against search of my vehicle...with success.
The OPPP pulled me over in Langton, and when apporaching my SUV, the cop mentioned to other cops that he was gonna pull me over and search...because i have a large pot leaf emblem on my hood(with the words...marijuana party of canada)
At that point I told him that he would be violating my civil rights...freedom of expression, if he was basing his search on a picture on my car...
He retorted, nope, "I'm gonna search your car because it SMELLS!! like pot"...at which point I told him the supreme court says that search is illegal if you smell burnt pot.(as it indicates the pot has been smoked...and there is no reson to beleive that anymore exists)
The OPP was angry....made me pull over to the side...and then proceeded to run my plates on my truck and boat...
I have no criminal record, but my boat trailer was listed as being green instead of plain silver.(hully Gully fucked up on the ownership)
After some brief discussion, he was forced to let me go...even though a lovely bag of green was sitting in my glovebox:)
Chalk one up for civil rights! _________________ Anything that the mind can conceive...you can achieve...anon.

Good to hear you were ready for the coppers.
A member of Calgary 420 was wearing a pro cannabis t-shirt and was skating the the Global Marijuana March event in Calgary with a pocket full of joints. He was stopped on the street by a beat cop and the cop asked to search him. The member refused stating the cop had no legal right to search him just because he was wearing a pro cannabis t-shirt and was going to a public pro cannabis event. The cop smiled turned and walked away.
Sadly way to many people do not know they have the right to refuse such a search.
I know of a SACC member (founder in fact) that should of known better that was busted in Southern Alberta recently. From what she told me (if correct) I could see it was an illegal search. I am going to her court hearing to find out the details first hand.
